About Us

The Lakeland Officials’ Association (L.O.A.) was founded in 1959 and since that time its purpose has been to obtain uniform interpretation of sports rules, to improve officiating techniques and to foster high standards of officiating. The L.O.A. membership is comprised of officials working principally in the sports of football, basketball, softball and baseball at youth, high school, college and adult levels. Several of our members also serve the sports of soccer and volleyball. The L.O.A. conducts regular meetings to better prepare its members to officiate at the highest level.

Since 1998 the L.O.A. has been proud to provide scholarships to several college bound students from southeastern Wisconsin. For more information about our scholarship program please see our “Scholarships” web page.

The L.O.A. makes itself available to schools and organizations conducting rules clinics and holding sports contests. Any group wishing to obtain officials for a rules clinic, sport scrimmages or contests should contact the Executive Secretary, the appropriate Sport Chairperson or follow the links on our “Find An Official” web page.
